WHAT IS A POSTFURRY TO IS ME

as a primer i like how the comments on this video explain postmodernism

some writings i had on it from 2022:

"i feel a heavy detachment from 'furry' as a community and concept. my ethos and way of functioning don't seem to blend well with the way i have felt expected to act. so to me, i have always personally defined my work as post-furry."

to expand on that a bit more i generally just... don't fit in? on a whole i feel dissociated from it all and i find the way i function is incongruous to how i am expected to act or what i am expected to draw or how to draw it... and i also don't feel as though i am a "furry", i just draw anthro art because that is the medium that is most comfortable to me. this is a feeling that is sometimes in flux, but also continual.

those feelings also stem heavily from the dissociation i experience as a transfeminine person in online spaces. they just dont like how i act. the artist and the interpretation of what it means to make "furry art" is what's weird in this context and by extension that makes the work of the artist weird as well. hence, postfurry

on the other hand if you want to use a wikifur definition of postfurry (ironic given what postmodernism is) then its because pretty much everything i draw tagged "oc:" is a god or demigod or etc able to bend time and space blah blah just imagine all of my ocs are awesome and goku

...oh and i use postfurry/furry tags in tandem because the former is accurate and the latter is for visibility's sake haha
